Tennille McCoy

Assemblywoman

Assemblywoman Tennille R. McCoy made history as the first person of color elected to represent New Jersey’s 14th District. She serves on the Assembly Appropriations, State and Local Government, and Telecommunications and Utilities Committees.

With a B.S. in Public Administration from Virginia State University, an M.S. in Human Resources/Labor and Employment Relations from Rutgers University, and a Global Executive MBA from NYU Stern, LSE, and HEC Paris, she brings extensive expertise in leadership and workforce development.

McCoy has held key HR leadership roles, including Director at UBS Financial, Assistant Commissioner at NJDOL, and Chief HR Officer at Covenant House International. She is also a Realtor with Berkshire Fox & Roach.

A dedicated community leader, she has earned numerous honors, including the NJ African Chamber’s Women Who Empower Award and the Building One NJ Shirley Chisholm Award. She actively serves on boards such as Dress for Success Central NJ, Mercer County Technical Schools, and RWJ Hamilton Hospital.

She co-founded the Juneteenth Cycle Ride, chairs the NJ Black Women's Collective Leadership Institute, and leads the Samuel McCoy III Scholarship Fund. A member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., McCoy remains a passionate advocate for progress and community empowerment.
