Rural Leadership North Dakota

Rural Leadership North Dakota (RLND) is a two-year interactive study and travel program dedicated to producing graduates with the vision and commitment to lead themselves, their organizations and communities into the future. This program emphasizes the development of skills such as working with people, managing projects, speaking in public, thinking creatively and understanding ag and rural policies. Participants attend eight in-state seminars, a Canada seminar and one national seminar in Washington DC over the two-year period.

Ruth's List

Ruth's List Florida is dedicated to building a progressive Florida by recruiting, supporting, and electing pro-choice, Democratic women to public office in Tallahassee, in county commissions, in city councils, and in other key positions around Florida. Ruth's List provides training, campaign assistance, early money, and a network of members giving their skills, time, and finances to help women win.

San Francisco Women's Political Committee

Established in 2002, the San Francisco Women's Political Committee (SFWPC) is a multi-party organization that works to engage women in all dimensions of the political process. SFWPC makes female and male candidate endorsements, initiative endorsements and presents the only woman's slate card in San Francisco. The committee advocates for policy improvements that support the empowerment of women, girls and community.

Scottsdale Leadership

Founded in 1987, Scottsdale Leadership offers a core nine-month community leadership development program.  Forty participants are selected each year to learn about the issues facing Scottsdale, develop the leadership skills needed to make an impact, and build a network of resources to help them effect change.  Programs sessions occur one day every other week, ranging from education presentations and field trips to participation in class or community projects.

She Can Win is a non-partisan organization promoting women in civic leadership through comprehensive training, mentorship, and professional development. It is an organization of scholars, educators, journalists, business and professional leaders and elected officials, who provide thoughtful analysts of the current status and trend of women serving in politics. All are dedicated to the goal of deepening the intellectual foundation of members and those interested in our organization concerning women in politics. We will diligently work to inform, educate, mentor, train and cultivate women interested in government, political office and advocacy.

Named after Shirley Chisholm, who started her political career at the state level, Shirley's List supports Black women running for local and state offices in California.

Sisters Lead Sisters Vote

Sisters Lead Sisters Vote (SLSV) is currently conducting research to document the experience and needs of Black woman candidates and to document the historic leadership of Black women in the political space. Through this research, SLSV will document and share the unique needs of Black women candidates to better equip the organizations, parties and people, who seek to support them. This research will also aid Black women who are considering, planning, or running for office.

Snelling Center for Government

Created by the Snelling Center for Government in 1995, the Vermont Leadership Institute (VLI) is a leadership development program designed to engage civic leaders and educate participants about issues, opportunities, and challenges facing Vermont. The 10-month program includes 18 seminar days over 8 overnight sessions, each held in a different region of the state. Participants selected from Vermont's private, public, and non-profit sectors gain the self-awareness, knowledge and networks needed in order to be effective leaders in their organizations, their communities, and Vermont.

The South Carolina General Assembly Women's Caucus is an organization for women serving at all levels of government in the State of South Carolina. The purpose is to provide an educational and professional resource network for women.

The South Carolina Republican Party offers campaign training for its members through the South Carolina GOP Academy. Ten 4-5 hour trainings covering a variety of topics are held throughout each election cycle.

National Organization for Women

Founded in 1966, the National Organization for Women (NOW) is the largest organization of feminist activists in the United States whose goal is to take action to bring about equality for all women. NOW is a multi-issue, multi-strategy organization that takes a holistic approach to women's rights. The organization's official priorities are winning economic equality and securing it with an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that will guarantee equal rights for women; championing abortion rights, reproductive freedom and other women's health issues; opposing racism and fighting bigotry against lesbians and gays; and ending violence against women.  NOW has over 550 chapters in all 50 states that participate in education and advocacy activities. Information on state and local chapters of NOW are available on the national NOW website and through state chapters.

South Dakota Agriculture and Rural Leadership, Inc. (SDARL)

South Dakota Agriculture and Rural Leadership, Inc., (SDARL), is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to identifying and developing leadership for agriculture and rural communities to benefit the state as a whole. Thirty individuals are selected annually to attend 11 seminars over an 18-month period. Nine of the seminars are 3-4 day in-state seminars held at various locations throughout South Dakota in the first 16 months of the program. The National Seminar is a week-long study/travel seminar to Washington, DC in February of the first year. The International travel seminar is a 10-12 day study seminar, typically held in February of the second year, just prior to graduation. The SDARL program strives to:/ enhance rural and agricultural representation/ -- improve professionalism/ -- increase community involvement/ -- sharpen promotional skills/ -- boost urban support and understanding/ -- reduce isolationism/ -- enrich the quality of life in the state of South Dakota. .
