Women's Political Power Map

The National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women (NOBEL Women) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization primarily composed of current and former black women legislators as well as many appointed officials.

The National Women's Political Caucus is a multipartisan, multicultural grassroots organization dedicated to increasing women's participation in the political field and creating a political power base designed to achieve equality for all women. Founded in 1971, the NWPC prides itself in increasing the number of pro-choice women elected and appointed into office every year. Through recruiting, training and financial donations, the NWPC provides support to women candidates running for all levels of office regardless of political affiliation.

The National Womens Poliltical Caucus of California works to increase womens participation in the political process and to identify, recruit, train and support feminist women for election and appointment to public office. Group efforts focus on education, endorsements, and fundraising. The California Womens Political Caucus is a chapter of the National Womens Political Caucus.

The National Womens Political Caucus of Californias Los Angeles Westside Political Action Committee meets throughout the year to interview candidates for local commissions, city council, California Assembly and Senate candidates who request the organization's endorsement. Individuals interested in a NWPC endorsement can contact the organization for an application and interview.

The National Women's Political Caucus of Virginia recruits, trains and supports pro-choice women candidates for elected and appointed offices at all levels of government.

Advance Native Political Leadership

The Native Leadership Institute (NLI) is a national training institute created by and for Indigenous peoples, focused on building pathways to leadership at all levels of government and political organizing in the United States. Advance Native Political Leadership is the first and only national Native American-led organization working to address the vast disparity and unique barriers that exist for Indigenous peoples in U.S. politics.

NC Women United (NCWU) is a coalition of progressive organizations and individuals working to achieve the full political, social, and economic equality of all women across North Carolina. NCWU works to build women's power through grassroots activism, community organizing, legislative advocacy, and engagement in the political process.

North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys

The Nominating and Public Service Awards Committee assists women attorneys in their quest to be appointed to judicial and other appointed positions.  The Committee evaluates requests for endorsements and makes appropriate recommendations to the Governor or other appointing authority. The Committee has helped to increase the numbers of women on boards and commissions of the North Carolina State Bar, such as the Disciplinary Hearing Commission, the Board of Law Examiners, and the Board of Legal Specialization. 

Through affiliate chapters in nearly every state, the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) promotes the principles, objectives and policies of the Republican Party; elects Republican candidates; informs the public through political education and activity; and increases the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government. In working toward these objectives, the NFRW concentrates its efforts in the areas of educating, communicating, recruiting, campaigning, fundraising, training and legislative action.

National Organization for Women

Founded in 1966, the National Organization for Women (NOW) is the largest organization of feminist activists in the United States whose goal is to take action to bring about equality for all women. NOW is a multi-issue, multi-strategy organization that takes a holistic approach to women's rights. The organization's official priorities are winning economic equality and securing it with an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that will guarantee equal rights for women; championing abortion rights, reproductive freedom and other women's health issues; opposing racism and fighting bigotry against lesbians and gays; and ending violence against women. NOW has over 550 chapters in all 50 states that participate in education and advocacy activities. New Hampshire Statute (21: 33-a) establishes that gender may be a consideration in the appointment of all state boards, commissions and councils.
