This report, produced in collaboration with the Latina Civic Foundation, provides a comprehensive analysis of the disparities, challenges, and opportunities for increased political engagement and representation for Latinas in the state.

Part two of CAWP's Data to Diversity project analyzes the demographics of officials appointed to state boards, commissions, and authorities in New Jersey. Specifically, this report focuses on the gender and ethnic diversity of New Jersey's appointed public officials. 

This report provides a demographic overview of elected officials serving in New Jersey in the first phase of a project created by the New Jersey Legislature.

This paper examines the factors that account for the rapid rise in the number of women legislators in New Jersey, focusing primarily on the time period from 2004 through 2011. Central to the analysis is the question of what it would take to bring about enduring change in a political system characterized by a strong, male-dominated party system like that found in New Jersey.

This report explores the history of women's candidacies for the New Jersey Assembly and analyzes some of the reasons for the status of women as office-seekers in the state. 

Conventional descriptions of how New Jersey women secured the right to vote in the late eighteenth century, and of the extent to which they took advantage of that right, tend to be incomplete. Moreover, the subsequent disenfranchisement of women was not principally a product of corruption in an 1807 Essec County referendum, as some maintain, as much as it was the result of a shift in the balance of power within the state.

This monograph documents the formation and activities in 1981 and 1982 of New Jersey's Bipartisan Coalition for Women's Appointments, an ad hoc group organized after CAWP convened a meeting of politically active women to discuss how to get more women appointed to state-level posts.

This instructional handbook from 1978 describes the process of lobbying within a state legislative framework, listing resources from that time necessary to plan and carry out an effective lobbying campaign and explaining the legal requirements surrounding advocacy when the handbook was written.
